I'm happy to say that the snack sacks were a huge success at the school :) I am so amazed at the great manners from all of the kids and parents at the school. They should all be very proud to be a part of this community.
I'm trying to find a way to add my e mail to this blog but I can't find a way other then to add it to this post.
If you are interested in learning more about the snack sacks please feel free to contact me.

Fabric Choices
The choice has been made and I've made another trip to Fabricland, I spent a bunch of time cutting the fabric. I've now measured and cut everything I need to.
Velcro x 220, I still need to get some more.
I bought all that Fabricland had.
First Choice of fabric.
Peace, Earth, Life. Just perfect for our School :)
Second choice of fabric.
All of our many different hands supporting our Earth.
I'm going to start sewing tonight. I'm hoping I can get these done fairly quickly , but I know that making 260 snack sacks is going to take a few weeks :)

Day 2
Today I went back to the Fabric store to get some more velcro and another sample of cotton for the outside of the snack sacks. I have 4 that Mrs. Verlaan and the parent council are going to choose from. As much fun as it would be to have each child have a totally unique snack sack, It would be almost impossible to make 260 different coloured sacks ;)
I cut the nylon into 1 meter pieces and stack 3 together, then I measure out the rectangles from my template :) I can get 20 snack sack linings from 1 meter. It takes a while to get this all done, but makes sense to do it all at once.

This is the stack of 280 snack sack insides :) with the nylon I picked up and some I had already here I am now done this part of the job :)

Last night I started shopping!
I love Fabricland and spend an awful lot of time in that store. Last night I went to pick up some supplies so I can get started. I bought a whole bolt of nylon for the insides of the snack sacks, That would be approx 10 meters. I think I may need a bit more, but I bought all they had in white. I got 10 meters of velcro and I need A LOT more!! I miscalculated that amount for sure. I've already spent about 3 hours of my time measuring, cutting, shopping . This project is going to take a lot of hours :)
I'll be sure to take pictures as I start sewing :)
